1015.jpgFrench Fried Onion Rings

2 large onions 1 egg beaten

1-1/2 cups flour 1 cup beer

1 Tsp baking powder 1 Tbsp oil plus oil for deep frying

¼ Tsp salt

The 1015 Onion is ideal for onion rings because it almost always has a singular center. Peel the onions and cut into three eighth inch slices. Separate the slices into rings. Combine the flower, baking powder, salt, egg, beer and the tablespoon of oil. Blend until the batter is smooth. With a fork dip the onion rings into the batter coating them well. Fry to a golden deep brown in oil heated to 375 degrees. Drain on paper towels.

Microwave Onions

(An easy, delicious substitute for a baked potato)

Cut a hole in the center of an onion, about 1 inch deep and ½ inch wide. Put 1 beef or chicken bouillon cube and 1/2 Tablespoon butter or margarine in the hole. Place onion in a small bowl, cover with plastic wrap and microwave on high for 2 minutes.

1015 Casserole

1 to 2 Texas 1015 Onions

1 10.5-oz. Can Campbell's Creamy Chicken Mushroom Soup

1 Cup Grated American or Cheddar Cheese

½ Cup Crushed Regular Potato Chips

Slice enough onions to fill a 9×13 buttered casserole dish. Cover with can of soup, cheese and crushed potato chips. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Delicious.
