How to Order

By Mail: Send your check or money order, charge to your credit card or just check “Bill Me” and we will send you a statement after your packages have been delivered. (Subject to credit approval.)
By Fax: Dial TOLL-FREE: 866-FAX-RUBY (866-329-7829) to fax your order form to us anytime day or night. Please do not fax and mail the same order, or it will be duplicated. If transmission problems occur, please clearly mark the second fax “duplicate”. Make sure your name is on every page.
By Phone: For credit card orders dial TOLL-FREE: 1-800-BUY-RUBY (800-289-7829) day or night seven days of the week. We gladly accept American Express, Visa, Master Card and Discover.

Acknowledgement of Orders

We acknowledge all orders by mail. If you need an acknowledgement by phone or fax, we will add a $5.00 service charge.

Send a Gift Certificate

Having trouble deciding? Gift cards are available for purchase by clicking here. For your convenience, we will email your gift recipient a beautiful gift card for any occasion and include your personal message.

Where will my gift message appear

Your personalized gift message will be included on the label to notify the recipient you are the generous sender.

Citrus Season

Our citrus shipping season usually runs from mid-November to early June. We start shipping just as soon as the fruit ripens to our high standards - and we stop when it is too mature to meet these same standards. Please do not ask us to ship before we think the fruit is ready - or after we feel it is past its prime.

Standard and non-standard delivery orders will arrive during the selected arrival week

Hanukkah: 12/1-12/10
Early Christmas: 12/3-12/15
Christmas: 12/6-12/24
Valentine’s Day: 2/5-2/13

Standard Shipping
Since first established in 1926, Pittman & Davis has worked hard to make sure our customers are 100% satisfied with our exclusive gourmet food gifts and hand-picked fruit. We have done our best for nearly 100 years to absorb the many cost increases. We are all aware of the current environment of rising costs especially as it relates to fuel and other delivery costs. Unfortunately, the time has come to begin charging a nominal shipping and handling fee of $7.50 per order regardless of the number of packages in the order. We hope you understand! As you know, for orders after the holiday period, we offer a standard shipping week approximately once a month while the fruit is at its very best. We consolidate the orders and ship, using temperature-controlled conditions, directly to the major post-offices near the final delivery destination. This method is fast, safe and saves you money.  

When You Need It Even Faster
Additional Quick-Ship delivery options are available for an extra charge when you need your gifts even faster than our standard or non-standard delivery. We do not do Quick-Ship delivery to PO Boxes. Call 800-289-7829 for more details.

Substitutions
In very rare instances, we may need to make a substitution to your order due to weather or shipment delays. Be assured that the item we substitute will be of equal or greater value than the item you ordered.

Sales Tax

We are required by law to collect state and local taxes for shipments to states in which we have a physical or economic presence. The taxability of food or combination of items varies by state. Delivery & processing will be taxed when the product is taxable. Tax is only an estimate. Taxes will be applied when your payment is processed.

All exempt customers must provide us with proper documentation. For example: a copy of your state’s resale certificates, exemption certificates, or other acceptable proof of your exempt status for the state to which the product is shipped. Please fax this documentation to 956-423-9327 before submitting your order.

Cards are not necessary

But, we will include your cards if you supply them. Address shipping labels will indicate clearly the greetings you request or that your gifts are “from” you. Your recipient only needs to glance at the label to know the gift is from you.

Terms

Credit card payments will be charged at the time of order. Bill me later payments are due the 10th of the month following shipment. (subject to credit approval).

Offers

From time to time Pittman and Davis may offer special promotions or discounts.  In these instances the discount valid through date will be published on the promotion.  It should also be noted that promotions or discounts are not valid on previous purchases and cannot be combined with any other offer or discount. 

Our fruit is seedless, but

“Seedless” is a relative term when applied to citrus and means only that there are very few seeds compared to the heavily seeded varieties.

A note regarding Oranges and Grapefruit

The oranges in all November and December shipments will be the sweet seedless Navel Oranges. After Christmas we will continue to ship Navels but in either January or February, we will switch to the later-maturing California Navels. In late April, we will switch to the sweet California Red Grapefruit.

A note regarding all citrus

You and your friends will enjoy the Absolute Best Ruby Red Grapefruit from the Texas Rio Grande Valley and the Florida Indian River Area. By shipping direct from both areas, we can guarantee you the finest fruit grown. We will be doing the packing and shipping – our size, flavor and quality standards remain unchanged, continuing a tradition of excellence from the same family for three generations – 90 years!

Shipment Outside the Contiguous 48 States

See the table next to the attached envelope to the left or call if unavailable. New international shipping regulations have made it impossible for us to ship to Europe.

Make sure addresses are correct

Please make sure all addresses are complete, correct and legible. Even minor errors can occasionally result in non-deliveries. Undeliverable perishable shipments are not returned to us, but are usually given to a worthwhile charity.
