  • Pineapples are neither pines nor apples. Pineapples are yellow-fleshed, aromatic fruits consisting of coalesced berries. They are thought to have originated in Brazil and Paraguay, and were likely first enjoyed by Europeans when Christopher Columbus arrived on the Island of Guadeloupe in 1493.
  • Peach is from the rose family and is called the Southern gentleman. It is the state symbol of Georgia and is synonymous with the summer season. During summer every year, the world’s largest peach cobbler (which measures 11 feet by 5 feet) is made in Georgia and served for free.
